In the words of our customers

Ron van Burik, cultivation manager at Boot & Co:

‘A reliable partner for high quality cuttings’

Boot & Co in Zundert supplies a total package of products for application as functional green infrastructure. Good propagation material is of prime importance for the company. “That's what lies at the very foundation of successful cultivation”, says cultivation manager Ron van Burik of Boot & Co. “That explains why we select our cutting suppliers so carefully. We also visit our suppliers twice each season. We inspect whether everything is being propagated as agreed and check on the condition of the shrubs. Are the cuttings the right length, are the weeds being keep under control and is the percentage of plant loss acceptable? Rötjes hardly ever give us cause to complain.”

Neat and orderly
For some years now, Boot & Co has purchased rooted cuttings from Rötjes young plants. These cuttings are mainly roses and lavender. Van Burik is extremely satisfied about the working relationship. He praises the excellent quality, in particular, and the fact that the shrubs and plants are raised and supplied with all due care and attention. “The trays are always placed neatly on the trolleys and labelled per variety. This attention to detail prevents any misunderstanding.”

Customer friendly approach
Ron van Burik also highly appreciates the customer friendly approach that characterises Rötjes. “We are always treated with the utmost friendliness and professionalism. Communication is clear and pleasant. And, if there is an unexpected problem, they try to reach a satisfactory solution as quickly and efficiently as possible. To sum it up, our experience of Rötjes is a reliable supplier of rooted cuttings, who guarantee superior quality.”

Johan van Niekerk, owner of Fa. Joh. Van Niekerk and Hebe Center Holland:

‘Cuttings from Rötjes meet our demands’

Johan van Niekerk has been using rooted cutting from Rötjes young plants since the 1990s. These cuttings are various varieties of Hebe. Kwekerij Fa. Joh. Van Niekerk in Waddinxveen raises most of these cuttings until they reach a pot size of 10.5 cm. The Hebe varieties then follow the rest of the process at fellow nurseries or are raised by Hebe Center Holland in Hazerswoude-Dorp; a company run by Van Niekerk in collaboration with trading nursery Van Lint. “The various varieties of Hebe are supplied from here as ready-to- plant garden plants to outlets including garden centres and DIY centres.”

Prime quality products
Good propagation material should, according to Johan van Niekerk, be healthy and well rooted. In addition, he attaches high value to good continued growth after repotting. Rötjes has no trouble meeting these demands, says Van Niekerk. “Of course, there are some points here and there that could be improved on, but any comments are always taken seriously and dealt with as soon as possible. And, what I really think is crucial: the team at Rötjes does their very best to supply prime quality propagation material.”

Good communication
Van Niekerk is also very satisfied when it comes to communication. If there's anything going on, he is always informed in time. “And we consult to agree on the best time for pruning and fertilizing. We also draft a planning sheet each season listing when we want to receive which cuttings. Rötjes then ensures that the cuttings are in optimal condition for repotting at precisely that moment. Thanks to the planning sheet, we both know where we stand.”
